6 Weeks Robotiversary
Henry had his follow-up appointment with his electrophysiologist (robot/pacemaker doctor) on Monday, which was six weeks after his surgery. The trip into the city was easy and quick, as was his appointment! Henry had his bloodpressure taken and had an EKG before having his pacemaker "read". It is pretty amazing that they just had to put a special monitor over the part of his stomach where the pacemaker is and they can get all sorts of data. Henry's doctor told us that at his current pacemaker usage (it only goes off when needed) that the battery would last for TWELVE years! It is likely that they will have to adjust the pacemaker's settings as he gets older and is doing more active things (i.e. soccer, ultramarathons, etc.) so that timeline will probably change. But for now we are really happy to hear that things are going well and that it'll be a while before he'll have to have anything done again.
